A Roman Catholic Parish in the Archdiocese of St. Louis
Sr. Ginny - PicturesOn November 18th we will be going on our first Field Trip of this school year. Both Ms. William's Class and my Class will be going to St. Agatha's Convent/Food Pantry/Center as well as view the outside of a historic building located down the street from St. Agatha's. It is a building once used as part of the underground railroad system to help free slaves at the time. We are also hoping to stop by Gus' Pretzel shop to see how pretzels are made before heading back to school. The plan is to get on the bus at 9:30/9:45 a.m. and return around 2:00 p.m. The purpose is to broaden our awareness of those who are less fortunate than perhaps most of us and to experience how God works in all and to become aware of the importance we all play in helping one another. Another purpose is to have the opportunity to experience a part of our history in viewing/discussing the underground railroad. In regards to Gus' Prezels we can see how a St. Louis business operates and has been able to do so for over 40 years. It is a business that has been passed down from Father to Son(s). |
