Wednesday Envelope - September 3, 2008

Back to School Night was well attended and informative.  Soccer and Volleyball are getting started.  Tests have already been taken.  Yup, school is definitely in full swing.

I already need to make a correction:  The Immacolata Cub Scouts Night will be this Thurs, Sept. 4 at 7PM in the cafeteria.  All boys in 1st through 5th grade are welcome to join.  Sorry, kindergarteners need another year before they can step up (My bad, as my girls say).  Both parents and boys should attend this really fun event.  Call Dave Gruenbacher (726-7939) for more info.

OOPS, a glaring omission was brought to my attention.  We have a new 1st Gr. teacher, Erin Williams, who was not included in last week’s Make A Note.  Please accept my apologies and give a warm welcome to Ms. Williams who will educate those little cuties!

As part of a program for seminarians to become more familiar with parish life, we welcome two third-year seminarians, Mr. Barry Clayton and Mr. Anthony Ochoa, who will assist at Sunday morning Masses, teach Religion to our 5th Graders on Tuesday afternoons and help with some adult education classes.  We also welcome Mr. James Bock, a second-year seminarian who will be with us on Sunday mornings.  Make sure to say hello.

Be sure to register your girls for Girl Scouts!  Susan Sansone will lead the Kindergarten Daisies, Mary Noel Donovan & Stacey Cribbin will take charge of the 1st & 2nd Gr. Brownies as well as the 5th Gr. Juniors, and Carrie Dunne will guide the 3rd Gr. Brownies.  Contact Mary Noel Donovan (983-0717) for questions and information.

One more week until Immacolata Choir Rehearsals begin!  Mr. Krausz is looking for a few (well, actually, a lot) of singers.  No experience necessary and there are no auditions.  He just wants kids in Gr. 3-8 who like to sing.  Rehearsals begin Wed, Sept. 10 from 3:15-4PM in the church.  You can just show up or call Mr. Krausz (991-5700 x323) for more info.

Sell! Sell! Sell!  Sally Foster is in full swing, but the deadline is near!  Remember the school gets 50% & 40% for the gift wrap, cookie dough and magazines!  Don’t forget to make a copy of your order so you can deliver them right away! Don’t forget that $25 cash is given to the top 3 sellers and the class with the most participation gets a Free Dress Day! The Sally Foster Deadline is Fri, Sept. 12.  Debbie Tonn (989-9814) & Izabel Genovese (989-1661) are the contact people.

Party while you give back to the community with the Immacolata Reverse Raffle on Sat, Nov. 8 at 7PM in the gym.  Tickets are $120 each or 3 for $300.  Prizes are $500, $1500 & $5000.  Go in with your friends and become a sponsor!  For those who are new, the Reverse Raffle is a big party (featuring Mark Guyol in a toga and dancing to The Fabulous Motown Revue—just kidding about Mark and the toga…I think) where tickets are drawn out of the barrel until you have a winner (hence the reverse part of the raffle).  Only 400 tickets are sold and look to the Wed. Envelope today for order forms.  Seriously, it is a lot of fun and the proceeds go to the Forward in Faith Campaign (the new addition to the church and school).  Contact Mark Guyol at mark.guyol@gmail.com or 314-713-4704.
