A Roman Catholic Parish in the Archdiocese of St. Louis
Wednesday Envelope - September 10, 2008What a week already! Now would be a good time to remind you and your kids to not share combs, brushes, hats, coats, headbands, ponytail holders, helmets, etc in an effort to prevent the spread of head lice. You may also remind them that head lice cause no major disease and are mostly attracted to really clean hair. They are just a nuisance and yes, tell those angels, they still have to wash their hair, anyway. The good news is that work on the school addition and field is nearing an end. We’re excited about having new classrooms and a bigger field. The bad news - the field, landscaping and playground will not be completed by the night of the Tailgate Party, September 26th. Our Home and School Committee is rescheduling the Tailgate Party to Friday, October 24th, with a possible new twist to the evening. Details will follow in the weeks ahead. As you may have heard, Mr. Krausz is leaving us for another position. While we will miss him, we wish him the best. As a result, the Immacolata School Choir and Cantor Team will postpone rehearsals until further notice. Sure will miss those musical sounds from our little songbirds! On a more fun note, we have a budding thespian in our midst. Kelly Gallagher, 4th Gr., will make her debut in the stage production of “Honk” at the Shrewsbury Community Theater the 3rd week of Oct. Now we can say we knew her when. STILL WANTED: Volunteers to be Lead Room Parents for 4th Gr., Spiroff’s & Burchard’s 6th Gr. and Johan’s 7th Gr. We know you parents are out there and you know your kids would love you to do this (even thought they say otherwise!). Call Lisa Mullen (962-2453) or Megan Browdy (962-3038) to give of your time. All you Dads, the Christ Renews His Parish Retreat is rapidly approaching on Sept. 27-28 at Immacolata. Send in your registration form by this Sun, Sept. 14. Ladies, now is the time to send in your forms as well. The Christ Renews His Parish Retreat for the ladies is Oct. 11-12, also at Immacolata. Give yourself the gift of faith &community. Call Betty Rataj (314-727-4827) for more info. This Fri, Sept. 12, be sure to bring an extra $1 or coins for the next playground fundraiser, sponsored by those cute Kindergarteners. This week will be “Coins for Kindergarteners for Casual Dress.” All proceeds go to the playground fund and last week, those 1st Graders collected $220! Contact Shawn Adelmann (991-1151) or Ronni Gioia (918-8418) if you have questions. Those Oct. Hot Lunch Forms & Money are due this Fri, Sept. 12! 3200 meals will be prepared for Sept. so prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. That is a lot of pizza, bosco breadsticks and waffles! Let Missy Bax (420-4857) or Kate Gough (505-5708) know if you have any questions. Also, something else that needs prompt, if not immediate attention, is your Sally Foster forms. The holidays are right around the corner, so order that gift wrap, cookies, magazines, and fun little gifts now! The deadline is this Fri, Sept. 12. Remember, every little bit helps the school and there are prizes out there to be had! Debbie Tonn (989-9814) & Izabel Genovese (989-1661) are the contact people. Please note that Standardized Testing is quickly coming up. Now is the optimal time to get those bedtime routines completely established and start cooking that well-balanced diet of “brain food!” Just consider it a great habit to get into.
