Brrrrrr!  It has been a long time since it has been this cold in October.  I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come.  Just a little note as flu season bears down on us—You can look up flu information, including symptoms and treatment on www.barnesjewish.org and type in flu in the search box.  An ounce of prevention…

Thanks to the small, but dedicated crowd that came to the Immacolata Tailgate party last Friday.  The kids were so excited about the new playground and the little ones were awfully cute in their costumes.  That playground will see years of use.    Thanks to everyone who came in the gym and cheered on our Volleyball athletes.  Your support was much appreciated.

Sheila Hansen thanks everyone for their support in buying Immacolata magnets and she is very happy to report she is sold out.  What a way to show school spirit!

The 8th Gr. playground fundraiser is this Fri, Oct. 31.  For $1 (or more), you are privileged to wear orange and black to school in honor of the holiday.  Please show you holiday and school spirit this Fri!

To those with older students, don’t forget the Open House at area Catholic High Schools this Sun, Nov. 2.  Generally speaking, it lasts from 1-4PM, although each high school has its own schedule.  Check the Archdiocesan website for individual school times, www.archstl.org.  Go check out what would be a good fit for your not-so- little angel.

Speaking of spirit, the Reverse Raffle is coming very quickly on Sat, Nov. 7 at 7PM.  We need to sell all the tickets to make this a success.  The money benefits both the parish and school as it goes toward the “Forward in Faith” Campaign, otherwise known as the new addition, which the kids are now enjoying.  In addition to giving to the community, you get to enjoy the fun and fellowship of the Reverse Raffle party.  You can forget the stock market and, most likely, the results of the elections.  I know I personally would like to see John Lally dance to the Fabulous Motown Review! Rally your friends and neighbors together to buy tickets and then go enjoy yourselves at one of the most fun events ever held in the Immacolata gym!  Make checks out to Immacolata and then drop off at the new school office, the rectory or mail to Sarah Westfall at 9401 Sonora Ave, St. Louis, MO 63144.   Contact Mark Guyol at mark.guyo@gmail.com if you have questions.

In the spirit, still, of giving, please donate cans of food, including those containing meat and toilet paper to the St. Cronan’s Food Drive tomorrow, Thurs, Oct. 30.  Times are tough, but most of us can still count our blessings.  Your generosity can only add to those blessings.

Please, please, please look in your kid’s backpacks, lockers, closet, drawers for any Girls sizes S and M North Face jackets that do not belong to you.  The Keady and Fitzmire families are looking for their jackets.  One is brown and the other is black or some other dark color.  We don’t want those sweet little girls to get cold!  Contact Michelle Keady (862-6765) or Angela Fitzmire (727-1775) if you find them.
