Wednesday Envelope - Sept. 2, 2009

Assignments are coming home, tests are being studied for, projects are beginning; yes, the normal school routine seems to be in full swing.  Despite that, a few things are worthy of noting...

Our school has devoted teachers, wonderful maintenance guys, but still it depends on its volunteers to help keep it all together.  The Hot Lunch program needs help on the 1st & 4th Mon, 1st, 3rd, & 5th Tues, 1st, 3rd & 5th Thurs, & 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Fri. as well as Room Parents for Ms. Osmack, Mrs. VP, Mrs. Di, & Mrs. Spriroff's classes.  The time commitment is not as great as you might think and it is a great way to meet kids & parents.  Call Lisa Mullen (lrmullen@hotmail.com or 962-2453) or Megan Browdy (meganbrowdy@charter.net or 962-3038).  You can make a difference!     The deadline for Sally Foster Gift Wrap is closer than you think!  The deadline is next Wed, Sept. 9, so don't forget to fill it out this weekend.  Be sure to include your cookie dough, because the order will be for student orders only (no extras!).  As always, the school benefits 50% from the wrapping paper and 40% from the magazines & cookie dough.  Six Gift Cards of $25 each will be raffled out to those who turn in their orders before Sept. 9 and those with 100% class participation will receive a free dress day.  Time to get organized! Call Debbie Tonn (989-9814) or Izabela Genovese (989-1660) if you have questions.

Mark your calendar: Cub Scout Night at Immacolata is next Thurs, Sept. 10 at 7pm in the cafeteria.  Come for a fun evening to see what scouting is all about.  Cub Scouts is open to all boys in grades 1-5.  Again, it is a great opportunity for leadership & community skills to use now and always.  For more info, call Mike Tonn (989-9814).

Ladies, as you are organizing your calendar, be sure to RSVP to the Christ Renews His Parish (CHRP) retreat scheduled for the Sept. 12-13 weekend.  Spots are still open!  Forms are available in the back of the church or call Julie Ledbetter (567-1737) or Mary Corrigan (991-3359).

Remember, the school is closed on Mon, Sept. 7 for Labor Day.  Enjoy the day off!
