Wednesday Envelope - Dec. 16, 2009Merry Christmas! The school office would like to give you the gift of not returning your Wed. Envelope. So unless you need to send something in to the office, you don't have to worry about sending your envelope back. New envelopes will come home the first Wed. when school resumes. Make A Note is short this week, but there are a few things worth mentioning. Congratulations to the 2nd Graders for making their First Reconciliation. I'm sure they have worked and prayed hard to get to this milestone. Be sure to notice how grown up they are! Congratulations to Chris Petersen, who received the Coaching Sportsmanship Award by the CYC, South Central District, 3rd Grade Soccer division. More important than any victory. Congratulations, Chris! Thank you to the 6th Gr. and their parents for hosting Breakfast with Santa. Santa came away with lots of ideas for gifts for his "Nice" list. We look forward to hearing which charities will benefit from this fundraiser. Jan. Hot Lunch Orders are overdue as is payment. A little bird told me there are even some Dec. payments due. You don't want to start the New Year trying to catch up! Please send in payments before Fri, Dec. 18.Gentle Reminder: The weather has turned cold. Please lasso your children and make them dress appropriately for outside recess. As a general rule, they go outside if the temperature is 300 or above. However, if the sun is shining and the wind is low, they may go outside for a brief time even if the temperature is lower just to "clear out the cobwebs." So pull out those warm coats, stocking hats, and try to find matching gloves. The trick is for them to remember to wear them home! Dismissal is at 11AM this Fri, Dec. 18. Free Dress is the uniform code of the day. Any unclaimed children will be shipped to the North Pole to help Santa load the sleigh. I hear they only eat lima beans at the North Pole. The quarter ends also on Fri, Dec. 18. Report cards will come home the week school resumes in Jan. Be sure to check the Lost & Found before Fri, Dec. 18. All leftover items, including jackets, coats, hats, gloves, sweatshirts, etc., will be donated to charity over the Christmas break. Trying to find small but nice gift for grandparents, or neighbor? The Ladies Society is selling the "Taste of Immacolata" Cookbook ($15) and the Immacolata Bell Tower Ornament ($10). E-mail Ladiessociety@Immacolata.org or call Kelly Wall (918-7242) to place an order. You know, the ornament would be a great stocking stuffer for an 8th Grader!
