Dear Parents,
This is a very special time in your child's life. He or she will be learning many new things this year- academic skills, organizational skills, social skills, self -confidence and responsibility. You play a major role in helping your children reach the maximum of his or her potential. Research in the area of child development points out that most of a child's intellectual development takes place outside the formal classroom. This means that children spend a great deal of time with their first and most important teachers- their parents. Indeed, as parents your involvement in your child's learning experience will have much to do with how your child succeeds in school and in later life. By working together, I believe we can all help your child become the best person possible- socially, emotionally, and scholastically.
If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact me.
In order to keep you informed of your child's progress, I will be sending home a weekly folder on Friday reviewing the previous week's activities, and regarding special needs our class might have. Folders are to be returned every Monday with your signatureI'm looking forward to working with you this year as we help your child experience all the joys of learning. I stand ready to assist you in any way I can, so please feel free to get in touch with me at anytime. Your participation and encouragement will be major contributions to your child's success this year!
Sincerely,
Myra Van Pelt

   Dear Students,

I'm really excited and happy that you are part of our homeroom, the M.V.P's- you truly are the Most Valuable People- that I'm fortunate to be working with this school year. We both have important jobs to accomplish this year- you as the students and myself, as your homeroom teacher. As part of this important team, we will be working hard and discovering new and challenging things.
Daily you will be exposed to a new word increasing your vocabulary. Language skills will be enhanced as we tackle the parts of speech and learn to diagram. We will see and discover our great country during daily classes in social studies. We, as a team, will drill, review, and push the clock, as concepts in math will be explored. Standard subjects are essential, yet the core of our existence and being will be our strong religious faith. We will always place god as our manager and daily ask Him to bless, protect and guide us.
Welcome team- I'm glad you're here!
Blessings, Mrs. V.P.
