Welcome to the language arts and reading programs for grade five.  I’m glad to be back and anxious to make this a successful year for the students.  Below is a proposed listing of dates for September.  I want to keep you as informed as possible with testing dates, supplies required and general information.  Please note these are subject to change.

1.       All hardbound books need to be covered.

2.       Students must have the supplement book, Checking Your Grammar daily with their regular language books.

3.      Students in 5VP must purchase the New Testament.  Bring $2.00 to school.

4.      Send daily an ample supply of paper, pens and a supplement quiet reading book.

September 30- Lesson 5- Spelling Packets Distributed

October 2- Lesson 5 Spelling Packets Checked

October 3- Staff/Teacher retreat- No Classes

October 6- Lesson 5 Test- Words and sentence dictation

October 7-Lesson 5 W.W. Parts A/C DUE

October 9- Lesson 5 Part B- write out, skip lines, underline answers DUE

October 13- Lesson 5 WW Part D DUE

October 17- Lesson 5 WW Test

October 21- Lesson 6 WW Parts A/C DUE
