Mrs. Van Pelt - CurriculumObjectives for Language Arts, Reading, and Religion Programs Language Arts Program: This program will help you learn how words can be put together in easy ways so that you can write good, simple sentences. It is not hard. It is not tricky. This program will give you many hints so that when you write a sentence, you will know that it is written correctly. When you talk with people, you can make them understand what you mean by saying the same thing over again. However, when you write, you have only one chance to tell people what you mean. If your sentence is not a clear one, people will not understand what you want them to know. This program will teach the student to write sentences that people will understand. GOALS:

This text is divided into five units or themes. To supplement this series each student has a New Testament. We use the New Testament to read the upcoming Sunday’s gospel. Highlighting and testing on the New Testament is a weekly requirement for every student in grade 5VP and 6. GOALS
Religion Textbook Grades 6 SERIES: Blest Are We and the New Testament Publisher: Silver Burdett Ginn Company Reading Program Both the fifth and sixth grade readers are published by the Hougton Mifflin Company. The books are divided into themes appropriate to their age level. The readers develop these themes by using short stories, myths, plays or speeches. GOALS
