Welcome to Immacolata Kindergarten
Hello, my name is Mrs. Caryl Deelo. Welcome to my kindergarten website! I value the importance of teacher/parent interaction and recognize you for your effort to be involved. I hope this will provide you with useful information about our classroom. Throughout the year I will update events and include homework assignments. I will either send a hard copy weekly newsletter home every Friday with your child to keep you informed about our activities from the week OR send the "looking ahead" news in an email. Thank you for sharing your child with me. This is my 19th year teaching kindergaraten at Immacolata. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to have the best job ever!!

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK!
Sunday, January 27--Open House and Catholic Schools Week Kick-off Mass
Catholic Schools Week January 27th - February 1st - Please find the Daily Schedule inside your Wednesday Folder. Put somewhere in your home ready to read daily. There is a lot of information
PLEASE PUT ON YOUR CALENDAR! Friday Feb. 1st is MISSIONCARNIVAL. YOU OR ANOTHER ADULT MUST BE PRESENT. Wednesday, January 30th is PARENT/CHILD LUNCH 11:30 ARRIVE EARLY!
PARENT CHILD LUNCH tips...
- Give yourself plenty of time to pick up a lunch, because most of the drive thru's and restaurants in our area will be full of Immacolata and St. Mary Magdalen parents! Maybe even order ahead of time. FYI I order Bread Co from their website requesting the pick up time and do the quick pick up.....in and out fast!
- Being early is better than late.
- Meet your child in our hallway at 11:15ish OR let your child know if you will meet in the cafeteria or gym. Tell them which room to meet if you are late. Bring a blanket in case no more seats at tables. My substitute will walk the students to the cafeteria and stand in the back by the restrooms, so keep an eye out for us.
- Recess after lunch whenever finished: You must stay with your child to get coats and walk outside to the playground after you eat. Teachers will arrive to help monitor. You may stay and watch until we go inside. If you are still outside when the whistle blows I may need your help gathering my students since all the grades will be out there (a LOT of kiddos). I want to be sure everyone is safe walking in with me/sub (if not back yet).
The 100th day of school is Thursday, January 17th. We will have a celebration in our classroom.
This will be a fun day and provide many opportunities for students to practice working with numbers-counting by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s to 100, grouping items in different ways, and solving problems. In preparation for this day help your child choose and count 100 objects that are small no larger than a clementine. Please help your child count by ones to make 10 piles of 10 items. Next count by tens with your child as you put them into a bag. You may also like to try counting the objects in other ways, such as by 2’s or 5’s.
EXTRA: Mrs. Di would like students to bring in 100 small stuffed animals to fill the aquarium outside of the library. If possible, please send a couple of animals sometime between now and Thursday. Stuffed animals will be given back.
Please send a bag of items to school before or on Thursday, January 17th
DUE DATES COMING UP! ADD TO YOUR CALENDAR OR PRINT HARD COPY.

if you want. Otherwise, just put pictures of your favorite things and family picture.
Please label your LAST NAME so it's visible.

Here is an outline of helpful tips and information. You may want to

which will be a huge benefit especially if you are a new family at
this school. It's a lot to take in....here we go!

sometimes. I don't mind if you put ice inside for hot days.

WHOLE SCHOOL CLASSROOM RULE -NO PEANUT SNACKS INSIDE CLASSROOMS. It's ok in
Bring a SNACK EVERY DAY. We will eat snacks with 1st and 2nd grades outside during recess.
TWO OPTIONAL SNACK TIPS: 1)Pack snacks in the EASY FRONT POCKET of
the backpack every time for consistency. 2) Pack 5 small packaged
snacks for the whole week so you don't forget each
morning.....depending if it's small, and nothing that will spoil. 3)
OR just form a good habit of having your child independently grab a
snack from a box with a variety in your pantry.
- PLEASE DONATE "EXTRA" SNACKS for those who forget. You may bring
them along with your supplies or on another day. Ideas: Teddy
Grahams/graham crackers, fruit snacks, pretzels, granola/fruit bars, Cheeze Its, Goldfish
